Location:
Palazzo Thiene, Vicenza
Date:
6 November 2025 to 8 March 2026
Following the successful presentation at La Venaria Reale, Turin and Castel Belasi, Capodenno, the exhibition series dedicated to contemporary sculpture in the vitreous medium returns to the north of Italy. From 6 November until 8 March 2026, Glasstress Vicenza: A Selection will be on display at Palazzo Thiene with more than 40 works by some of the world’s most renowned creatives active today. Born in collaboration between the Venetian glassmakers and internationally acclaimed artists, the sculptures speak to the visual poetry inherent in a medium whose potential yet remains to be fully explored. The alluring nature of glass thereby becomes the starting point for an exhibition itinerary that interweaves the voices of Italian figures such as Emilo Isgrò, Alfredo Pirri and Michelangelo Pistoletto with voices like Marya Kazoun, Tony Cragg, Erwin Wurm or Koo Jeong A, Laure Prouvost and Thomas Schütte. In their unique appearance, the glass sculptures encapsulate the capricious beauty of the medium, moving between transparent and opaque, fragile and resilient, cast and blown form, thus testifying to the intrigue the material has forever exerted on the beholder.
