Tony Cragg casts thought in sculpture with Line of Thought at Waldfrieden Skulpturenpark.

Continuing his material explorations for more than four decades, Tony Cragg is showing pieces from different groups of works in an exhibition that offers an overview of his restless research into the possibilities and affordances of matter cast in ‘lines of thought‘. From series of drawings to glass sculptures made in Murano, the retrospective pays homage to his observation that “there are many more things that don‘t exist than do exist“. A poignant statement captured in his oeuvre whose source originates in objects and forms that are still beyond our perception. In his multi-dimensional practice, drawing and sculpture emerge as methods of tapping into the limitless potential for novel shapes with their inherent idioms, meanings and associations.
