Marya Kazoun’s intricate and large-scale, mixed media installation “Time after Self-Portrait” was presented in “TEMPTATION, Glasstress Vicenza: A Selection,” on view at the the Renaissance-era Palazzo Thiene in Vicenza, Italy from 6 November 2025 to 8 March 2026.

Within this survey exhibition, artist Marya Kazoun’s work “Time after Self-Portrait” stood as an installation in glass and fabric that addresses the mistreatment of women through a spiritual and theological lens. This installation from 2009 brought an intimate subject into dialog into a historical setting, using glass and fabric to address the spiritual and cultural pressures surrounding the lives of women with striking emotional force.

The decorated rooms and lower chambers gave the exhibition a strong architectural setting. Curated by Francesca Valente and Jean Blanchaert, the show belonged to the wider Glasstress project, initiated by Adriano Berengo in 2009 and sustained through Berengo Studio’s collaboration with Murano glassmakers. Bringing together more than forty works, it framed glass as a living medium shaped by inherited technique and current artistic inquiry.
