Márta Kucsora’s 2026 solo exhibition at the Yunnan Provincial Museum in Kunming brought a substantial body of work by the Hungarian artist into a museum shaped by the archaeology and material culture of Yunnan. Official and local sources describe the presentation as a large-scale survey, with 74 works on view through May 2026. 

Within this setting, Kucsora’s paintings and moving-image elements opened painting toward space and duration, giving material process a palpable presence. The exhibition placed her sustained engagement with force and transformation in dialogue with a venue whose collections carry deep historical memory, creating a vivid encounter between contemporary abstraction and the long cultural horizon of the museum.
